The spring has sprung

Its not just about craft.  There’s movies, books, food, friends, family and more food!

Had a rather good week last week with everything except crafting lol You can just feel that summer is nearly here and I just can’t wait to go sit on the beach with my book and a coffee.  The garden is coming along fantastic.  Ralph spent the weekend putting in the new one and pulling out the old one that hadn’t been touched since some time in the 80’s

The old garden is going to take a bit of time.  The stumps apparently don’t want to leave yet.  Its started and that’s the main thing.  The dirt is rather compacted so this will mean a rotary hoe after its all out.  All that is staying is the palm and a pohutukawa.  I can’t wait for the new fence and the new plantings.  Its going to be stunning.

Because the tomato’s needed to go in and because the new garden is quite ready we planted them along the other fence line just to get them going.  We also had our first strawberry harvest.  All 4 of them 😀 Also my petunias are going for it which also helps with the feeling of summer coming

Saturday afternoon saw K & I head to the movies.  It was a jam packed theatre haha

I did not make that hole by the way.  Excellent movie! I just loved it 🙂 Its a must see if you get the chance.

On the way out K threw $2 into one of those arcade claw games and showed me her true talent.  Now to find a way to use this talent.  Anyone know of any careers that require claw skills?

Saturday night was guy fawkes night and, as usual, freaked out kitties.  Poor Squeak was terrified.  The little fella just about needs prozac for when the rubbish guy arrives on a Monday so this near sets him over the edge.  He couldn’t find a proper hidey hole so we made him a cat cave with his favourite things.

He thought we were nuts.

I had a lay in on Sunday.  Actually I had a ‘I’ve nearly finish this book’ moment that caused the lay in.

Quite enjoyed this one.  Definitely better than The Magic Cottage.  Was rather obvious with the majority of the story line but did not see that little twist at the end coming.  Not sure what’s up next for the reading.  I have a selection of about 50 to chose from right now so will see which one calls the loudest.

Sunday afternoon was movie time 🙂 We had a busy house work morning and I wanted to knit so any excuse really lol

I found The Last Witch Hunter rather dreary and meandery.  Sorry Vin but you did not shine in this.

Crimson Peak was rather weird but I strangely mostly enjoyed it.  Very gothic horror with a Wuthering Heights feel.  Seriously need to find out where to get her bathrobe from. It was beautiful.

Unfriended was a teen cash in on the ‘real time first person handheld’ genre that doesn’t really hit the mark.  Its mostly rather silly and not scary.  I like my scary to make me jump not yawn.  Had good potential but oh well.

So that was our week here.  Hope yours was good also xxx
