Weekly Craft Update Of Which There Is Not Much

Last week was ridiculously busy and that made crafting time rather a non-event.

Monday saw a meeting that meant that my husband and I travelled separately and dinner came in late.  Tuesday was our only free night but we ended having to visit the in-laws so were late.  Wednesday was eyebrows and a detour through the supermarket.  Thursday was hair and we didn’t get home till after 8.  Friday was a wedding so a late night.  Saturday was a lovely spa day but that also meant that it was after 5.  Sunday was a bike show and K bought all her friends home for a BBQ.  When you leave home at 5.45 each day and your usual home arrival time is around 6.15 each night these afterwork extras added up to not a lot of down time.  We just about need a holiday after that lot.

Still some progress was made.  As I was a bit knackered every night I got the rug out that I am making a couple of times as its a bit mindless to make so doesn’t require masses of concentration.

I think the cats are going to love this when it is finished 🙂

Saturday night and I got my stitching out for the first time this week.  After chores I managed to get a lot done on Sunday also.

That last page took nearly 6 weeks! Well that’s not really surprising when you consider that it is the middle of summer here so we are not spending many days in the house avoiding outdoors and cold.  We are off climbing mountains and swimming in the sea along with BBQ’s and friends and family.

We are now on the final run with only 2 more pages, or one child, to go 🙂 I am getting excited to get this one out of the way.  I just can’t wait to pick up Warm My Heart again and I have a special project for my dad to get started also that I can’t wait to climb into 🙂  With the very noticeable advancing of autumnal weather I am sure I will start to motor through both those pages in no time at all 🙂

Cross Stitcher, knitter, home cook, HVAC specialist, avid movie and TV watcher, reader and mum. I work full time and I'm not very good at sitting still so I love to try all sorts of crafting things from scrap-booking to ceramic work, but mostly I stitch. Heaven & Earth designs would be my favourite. I have had some major health scares in the past few years that I would not of expected to experience for at least another 20 odd years (born in 1971 so am currently only 45). Due to this I have a bucket list and its full of things right from books I must read to adventures I must achieve before I croak. I am always at the gym making myself stronger and healthier to fight my challenges and achieve my goals. Before the challenges I thought there would always be enough time and was just drifting along. You know how it is. Work, chores, kids, sleep, get up tomorrow and start again. I didn't really have any clear goals. I knew I wanted to travel but that was pretty much it. I was gaining weight steadily and didn't do anything much outside of the house and work. Since the challenges I have managed to get almost front row for both the Eagles and Elton John (expensive but you can't take it with you right), have had a day tour Kayaking around a lake and hiked the Tongariro Crossing. None of these would I even have considered 3 years ago. This is only the beginning :D Life is a gift and its what you make of it. You want it then you best be prepared to go get it :D
