That didn’t work

Weekly craft update

This week was not especially crafty.  I’m knackered and my planned holiday last week went legs up when other people at work decided that their needs are more important than mine.  I would not have been able to enjoy my time off if I had left Marie on her own in the office without the ability to have a break, get the mail or even do a bank run.  Yea yea, I’m a sucker and should have just taken it as I  booked 3 months ago before anyone else even considered it but I am just not that type of person.  Oh well.  I have 6 weeks leave owing so when I die of exhaustion then at least my funeral costs are covered with the holiday payout.

I got a little, and I do mean a little, cross stitching done on Nat’s cushion.

I also knitted the same square twice but made huge errors in it so have unravelled it for the 3rd time and started again.  I can only blame knackeredness and drinking Chardonnay while knitting.  Possibly not the best combination really haha.

So that was my limit for last week.  Might try that break idea again for next week.  Will see how this one rolls as we are getting closer to Christmas and taking time off before seems a little silly when I have a week off during our shut period, but I kinda need to focus a little better on these Christmas things. And sleep of course.

This weeks planned achievements:

  • Turn the elephant and dragon stitches into cushions
  • Finish Natalies cushion cover
  • Knit 2 squares for patchwork blanket
  • Finish transcribing GG’s war diary

  13. Neighbours – Pistachio & lemon shortbread

Cross Stitcher, knitter, home cook, HVAC specialist, avid movie and TV watcher, reader and mum. I work full time and I'm not very good at sitting still so I love to try all sorts of crafting things from scrap-booking to ceramic work, but mostly I stitch. Heaven & Earth designs would be my favourite. I have had some major health scares in the past few years that I would not of expected to experience for at least another 20 odd years (born in 1971 so am currently only 45). Due to this I have a bucket list and its full of things right from books I must read to adventures I must achieve before I croak. I am always at the gym making myself stronger and healthier to fight my challenges and achieve my goals. Before the challenges I thought there would always be enough time and was just drifting along. You know how it is. Work, chores, kids, sleep, get up tomorrow and start again. I didn't really have any clear goals. I knew I wanted to travel but that was pretty much it. I was gaining weight steadily and didn't do anything much outside of the house and work. Since the challenges I have managed to get almost front row for both the Eagles and Elton John (expensive but you can't take it with you right), have had a day tour Kayaking around a lake and hiked the Tongariro Crossing. None of these would I even have considered 3 years ago. This is only the beginning :D Life is a gift and its what you make of it. You want it then you best be prepared to go get it :D
